Sciron Ochre (Trapezites sciron)

Sciron Ochre

Appearance: Both sexes largely dark brown with several cream-coloured patches. Characteristic pattern on white spots on hind wing underside. Very similar to the Speckled Ochre (Trapezites atkinsi).
Wingspan: 3 cm
Season: 1 generation in spring.
Range: Locally from southern WA across southern SA into north-western VIC.
Habitat: Usually heathland, woodland, open-forest.
