Notes

The Black-ringed Ochre occurs locally along the east coast of Australia and adjacent inland areas from the south coast of NSW to near Cairns in far north-eastern QLD. It is characterised by the presence of a large, conspicuous white spot near the centre of the hind wing underside which is surrounded by a broad, black margin. There are a few very similar species, most notably Trapezites luteus and Trapezites heteromacula, both of which occur along the east coast of Australia as well and can be difficult to tell apart.
